Trip
Overview
This journey isn’t just another Baja run - it’s the brainchild of alumni who joined us two years ago and couldn’t stay away. They’re back, and this time we’ve fine-tuned the route to keep it fresh while holding onto the magic that made it unforgettable.
-
Expect more beach camping than ever, the longest stretch of dirt road we’ve ever tackled with guests, and just one focused day with the grey whales - leaving room for new adventures. We’ll have private boat trips in both the Pacific and the Sea of Cortez, explore ancient cave paintings, wander through Spanish missions, hike rugged canyons, and sink into chill days by the sea.
-
Nights are spent camping under the stars on Baja’s wild coastlines, with chef-driven meals elevating the experience. On the final evening, we’ll celebrate with a private dinner at a boutique hotel—complete with a jacuzzi tub and the option of an in-room massage.
-
If sharing Baja with a wonderful group of returning and new adventurers, exploring uncharted trails, and eating like royalty sounds like your kind of jam—this is the trip for you.
Experience everything Baja has to offer
We're pulling out all the stops for this epic trip
TESTIMONIAL
"Enjoyed seeing the variety of terrains that Baja has to offer. Good food. Spending time with other Revelers."
"I thoroughly enjoyed exploring northern Baja with other Revel Club members, most of whom I had met before. We saw beautiful and diverse areas of Baja that I never would have made it to on my own. Nathan did a great job as our guide, and the food we were served was delicious. I would highly recommend this trip!

10-Day Baja Adventure with Legends Overlanding
SCHEDULE

DAY 1
BEACH CAMP
We’ll kick off our adventure in Potrero Campground, just north of Tecate on the US side of the border. From there, we’ll head south toward the breathtaking Sea of Cortez, where we’ll enjoy a leisurely lunch on the beach. As the day unfolds, we’ll continue our journey, taking in the stunning desert landscapes along the way.
Our first stop will be Bahía San Luis Gonzaga, located about 6 hours from Calexico. We’ll spend the night camping along the shore, soaking in the serene beauty of the Sea of Cortez under the stars. The perfect beginning to what promises to be an unforgettable Baja adventure!
DAY 2-3
BAHIA
Start your day with breakfast on the beach at San Luis Gonzaga before we pack up and head south and west into the heart of Baja’s central desert. The landscape shifts dramatically as we cut back east toward the Sea of Cortez, arriving at Bahía de Los Ángeles—one of the most spectacular bays on the entire peninsula.
We’ll spend two full days here, exploring by private boat and soaking in the surrounding beauty. Expect the catch of the day pulled straight from the waters in front of you, paired with some of the most dramatic sunsets Baja has to offer. With over 20 years of exploring this peninsula, this bay remains one of my personal favorites—wild, timeless, and unforgettable. - Nathan Stuart Lead Guide/Owner

DAY 4
SAN FRANSISQUITO
Leaving Bahía de Los Ángeles, we’ll point our rigs south and take on 84 miles of rugged dirt track, a stretch that few travelers ever see. The route winds through remote desert valleys before delivering us to a hidden stretch of coast where we’ll set up camp for two nights.
Here, it’s all about simplicity - quiet days on a secluded beach, the crackle of the fire at night, and the kind of company that makes the miles worth it. With no towns, no traffic, and no distractions, this stop is pure Baja: remote, raw, and soul-stirring.
DAY 5
SAN GERTRUDIS
From the coast, we’ll turn inland and west, making our way to San Francisco de la Sierra de San Gertrudis—better known simply as Mission San Gertrudis. Built in 1752, this Jesuit mission rose out of a palm-filled oasis in the desert, and the surrounding landscape remains much the same as when padres and Cochimí Indians once lived and worked here.
We’ll set up camp beneath the palms, in the cool shade of this hidden desert oasis. The night promises a unique blend of history and stillness—stars overhead, the mission nearby, and the sense that little has changed here in centuries.

DAY 6
TO THE WHALES!
After days of adventure and anticipation, we finally reach the same destination as the grey whales - Laguna Ojo de Liebre. Our camp sits right on the beach, where the soundtrack of the night is the thunder of whales breaching and sinking back beneath the surface. It’s a surreal experience - falling asleep to the presence of giants just offshore.
The next morning, we’ll head out for a private encounter with these incredible creatures. Few experiences compare to being eye-to-eye with one of the largest mammals on the planet, in their natural nursery. This moment is always a highlight - raw, humbling, and unforgettable.
DAY 7
THE ENCOUNTER
Some days defy description - this is one of them. All I can say is you’re about to come eye-to-eye with a grey whale, so brace yourself. Few nature experiences on the planet even come close.
After our private boat encounter, we’ll return to camp with hearts still racing -and then it’s time to turn north. The journey isn’t over yet, and Baja still has more to show us.

DAY 8
CATAVINA
From giants of the sea to giants of the desert - welcome to Cataviña. If Dr. Seuss had dreamed up Baja, this is where he would have set the story: a surreal rock garden of house-sized boulders, giant cartoon-like cacti, and the whimsical, twisted shapes of boojum trees. It’s part fantasy, part wilderness, and entirely unforgettable.
We’ll spend the night under the stars here, camped among these towering forms. Surrounded by shapes and sizes that look like sleeping giants, Cataviña is one of the most otherworldly landscapes in all of Baja.
DAY 9
TREAT YOURSELF
After a delicious breakfast in camp, we’ll pack our lunches for the road and set off on a scenic 4-hour drive north, bringing us closer to the US border. As we near the end of our adventure, it’s time to indulge in a little luxury—an overnight stay at a charming hotel nestled in the picturesque wine country of northern Baja.
Enjoy a relaxing evening, savoring a delightful dinner paired with local wines, and reflecting on the incredible journey through Baja’s diverse landscapes. This will be the perfect way to end our trip before heading home.

DAY 10
VAYA CON DIOS!
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we’ll guide you across the US border, ensuring a smooth and safe transition back to San Diego. We aim to have everyone across the border by 2 PM, giving you ample time to catch your flight or enjoy a few extra hours on the road before your next destination. After saying our goodbyes, you’ll be ready for the next chapter of your journey, whether it’s heading to the airport or continuing your travels.
