Winnebago Owners Bring the Fun: An Exciting Start to Camp Winnebago On the Road

Learn more about recent community events from their passionate hosts.

By: GoLife Staff

In our digital age, people are craving meaningful in-person connections more than ever; fortunately, being a Winnebago owner means that you have access to a fun, helpful community that is happy to save a seat for you around the campfire! As we reflect on the first two owner events of the Camp Winnebago On the Road tour, our team can't help but feel proud that our owner community is filled with so many amazing people who strive to make these meetups a positive experience for all who attend.

One of the biggest reasons we launched the Camp Winnebago On the Road tour was to meet owners where they are and experience the energy behind the community gatherings happening across the country. These connections give us a firsthand look at what’s resonating and provide fresh inspiration we can bring back to Forest City as we plan for future Camp Winnebago events there.

By seeing what makes these rallies so special, we’re gathering ideas to help Camp Winnebago in Forest City continue to grow in ways that feel fresh, meaningful, and true to the spirit of our owners and our brand.

Camaraderie & Cornhole: Happy Hour with Revel Owners

The first event on this year’s Camp Winnebago On the Road tour was a Winnebago Revel owner meetup organized by THE REVEL CLUB that took place during Overland Expo West in Flagstaff, AZ. The team was excited to share some Camp Winnebago favorites with the group (including a favorite Midwestern delicacy: “the walking taco") and enjoyed getting to know these fun and adventurous Winnebago owners.

Celia Waterhouse, Winnebago Revel owner and co-founder of THE REVEL CLUB, shared that the club "organized a private group camping area where Winnebago Revel owners could settle in for three days of connection, camaraderie, and shared experiences—away from the hustle of the expo itself. Owners from across the country came together to catch up with old friends, make new ones, and celebrate the one thing we all had in common: our love for the Winnebago Revel.”

“The highlight of the weekend? A Friday evening happy hour put on by the Camp Winnebago On the Road team. We gathered around for a build-your-own taco bar, cold drinks, casual games like cornhole and (surprisingly competitive) plastic axe throwing, plus camping-themed trivia with plenty of swag and prizes to go around.”

If you are a fellow Winnebago Revel owner (or dreaming of becoming one), you are invited to join the group for an upcoming adventure or event. Celia shared that, "we’re more than a van group—we’re a growing community of van owners and overland enthusiasts who believe the journey is better when shared." Learn more about THE REVEL CLUB here.

Mods & Merriment with Winnebago Compact Coach Owners

The second stop of the Camp Winnebago On the Road tour brought our team to Amana, IA, for the Amana Mods, Maintenance & Merriment Meetup. Since this event was closer to Winnebago's Forest City factory, we were greeted by some familiar faces; however, there were plenty of new people we were happy to have a chance to connect with as well.

One of the activities that our team was excited to contribute was Family Feud—a hit at last year's Camp Winnebago. EKKO owner, mod-lover, and long-time Winnebago Ambassador, James Adinaro hosted the game (a special request by the group since he did such a great job last time!). After many laughs together, the game was successful at breaking the ice and setting a fun tone for the rest of the meetup.

athleen Hanson, Winnebago Travato owner and co-host of this year's event, thought the meetup was a great success and had this to say about it: "As the host of this meetup four years in a row, I've been very impressed with the level of support and interaction we've had from Winnebago throughout. Perhaps it helps that Amana is relatively nearby, plus our ‘mods and maintenance’ focus for Winnebago compact coaches (camper vans and smaller Class Cs, like the EKKO) brings in a nice mix of VOC (Voice of Customer) perspectives. We've had truly wonderful support from the product design team throughout.

“For 2025, I'd have to say that Winnebago including us on the Camp Winnebago On the Road tour did increase how much they also contributed to the ‘merriment’ part of our meetup. The events/marketing folks added things like games, snacks, professional AV equipment, and goodie bags, PLUS more of their own engaging and friendly selves. One nice aspect of that is they collaborated with us hosts to tailor their contributions to our particular meetup's focus and schedule.

“Chris West, President of Winnebago, interacting with folks through a brief talk followed by a Q&A session during the pizza lunch Winnebago provided was also very much appreciated by everybody. One attendee commented that Winnebago's participation in the community is one of the best things about being a Winnebago owner and that it is really special."

Of course, our team has a mutual appreciation for our amazing community of owners and had a fantastic time at this meetup with everyone who attended! Here is what Chris West had to say about getting to interact with owners at this event:

“It is such an incredible honor to attend a customer-organized rally like this, and I am truly blown away by the experience. Seeing our customers from all walks of life gather together to share how they have personalized their products was nothing short of inspiring. The creativity, passion, and loyalty displayed by everyone was remarkable.

“It is heartwarming to witness the sense of community and fun that our products bring into people's lives. Those innovative ideas and unique touches are what make our products and our community truly special. I simply cannot thank our customers enough for their unwavering support and for reminding me why we do what we do. I am more motivated than ever to continue delivering the best for all our current and future customers. So glad we have a family like this; we are blessed.”
