Well, wanted to do a quick video. There's a lot of videos out there on changing your fuel filter or changing your oil and oil filter on a sprinter van, but not much on they glaze over to do either one of those, you have to remove the air box or for that matter on these older vans. It's easier to pull the air box out.

00:00:22

To get to your air filter.

00:00:24

So they tend to glaze over that, and it's not difficult, but if you haven't done it before, you know it's good to kind of see the steps. So I'm just going to run through that quick. So First off, we're going to start on this side. We're going to remove the air hose and then we're going to remove these two electrical connectors, take that line off, then we'll pop this hose.

00:00:44

Stuff and we're going to pop off the the jump point for the the battery. So I'll start with this and you can either use a flat blade screwdriver.

00:00:55

Or I've got a 7mm nut driver which is a little easier to use.

00:00:59

And I'll just loosen that and take it.

00:01:01

Loose.

00:01:02

Don't take it. Don't take the clamp all the way loose and just work the hose off and get it out.

00:01:07

Of the way and then these.

00:01:10

Both go on with little connectors that have these releases on the side, so this one's both sides. You squeeze it.

00:01:19

Work it a little bit and.

00:01:20

It'll come off.

00:01:21

One has.

00:01:22

Just a tab on the backside. Same thing. Squeeze it, work it back and forth and it'll.

00:01:27

Come off.

00:01:28

And then there's a clip that holds the wiring to the air box. I find it's easier to get a blade under it and open it a little and puts it down and then it.

00:01:36

Comes off. It's just a.

00:01:38

Clip with some barbs in it that holds on to the plastic.

00:01:43

Next, I'll remove the jump post and you can't really see the tab, but there's a tab underneath this post that holds to the air box and you have to push it in towards the air box and lift up. And that comes loose.

00:01:58

And then the last.

00:01:59

I'll do is take loose this hose and there's two places you can.

00:02:03

Either do it here.

00:02:05

Or here at the front of the van. I find it's easier to pull this up. Just give it a.

00:02:09

Really good joint.

00:02:12

That's German for pull a little bit hard. And then the last thing you do, the air box, everything's free now. Just make sure you got everything free. You're just going to pull straight up at these rubber grommets. So this is just held in by rubber grommets with two little post. Just pull the air box straight up again. Kind of a joint.

00:02:32

And then it'll come out from the van.

00:02:36

And then the reverse is just putting it back is just a reverse of that with the only thing being these prongs here line up on these. And once you have that lined up, you slide her back in. So I'll just get it slid back in.

00:02:50

And then we'll.

00:02:52

Conclude.

00:02:57

Maybe.

00:03:01

So like that, push the tabs in, reconnect everything and you're done, like I said.

00:03:09

That's to get to your to your oil filter, which I was going to show you, but.

00:03:12

It's right down there.

00:03:14

Or your fill.

00:03:15

If you're going to work on that, which is back in there and a little more, a little more.

00:03:19

Involved tax.

00:03:19

If you are doing it DIY though, the air box doesn't need to come off.
